Tres Gilbert, Music Direction

Tres` is one of Atlanta's premier bass guitarists. He has mastered his craft by playing since the age of twelve, which marks over 20 years’ experience in the music industry. As a high school student, he participated in Jazz Laboratory (2 years) and Orchestra (4 years). These musical outlets are where he further gained a passion and endearing love for music. Through various circuits, he has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of artists, many of which have national acclaim.

Tres` talents can be heard in television promotions for Revlon, Coca-Cola & Vidal Sassoon. Whether it is the theme song from an episode of In the Heat of the Night, BET'S Bobby Jones Gospel or even Michael McDonald's taking it to the Street, FORD commercial, that signature hard-driving bass line adds just the right touch. Tres has played for THAT COMEDY SHOW hosted by Ryan Cameron on The Turner South Network. He also played on box office hit soundtracks like The Fighting Temptations and Love Jones.

Former Atlanta Mayors Andrew Young, Maynard Jackson, and Bill Campbell honored him with an invitation to play for them. His talents have also earned him opportunities to perform with AmeriCorps for former President Bill Clinton, offer teaching instruction as Musical Director for the Clark Atlanta Gospel Choir, and for tours with R&B artists 112, Kelly Price, and numerous stage plays like Tyler Perry's I Know I've Been Changed. The list of occasions, special events, shows, tours, and performances are countless. This Atlanta's Choice Award nominee for Best Bassist has also earned national recognition with recent performances at the National Democratic Convention.

Through his many accomplishments, and opportunities to perform with various phenomenal artists it was inevitable that Tres would establish his own production company, 3rd World Music. This endeavor has allowed him to produce and play for the Grammy Nominated, Award Winning Ann Nesby. He has produced The Frank McComb DVD volume 1 & 2 and is also shown playing on "The Indigo Girls" DVD and toured with TLC in Japan. Tres' has recently participated with the radio station WJZZ's Smooth Jazz at Sambuca, in Atlanta, Ga. with host Dave Koz.     Tres Gilbert has been on tour with New Edition, BBD, Johnny Gill, and The Heads of State (Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and Ralph Tresvant). But it doesn’t stop there, he recently produced, Grammy Award Nomination, Calvin Richardson's fourth album, Facts of Life: The Soul of Bobby Womack which is a tribute to the great Bobby Womack. This makes his 4th Grammy Nomination. In addition to all things mentioned, Tres performed for the Anne Nesby Christmas Special on BET as well as the 2009 and 2010 Soul Train Music Awards which had 4.2 MILLION VIEWERS the MOST IN THERE HISTORY. Some of the great artists that he performed for on the awards show were Neyo, Chrisette Michelle, Erykah Badu, Robin Thicke, Charlie Wilson, and the list goes on. He has released his own single and remix entitled "Simply Redeemed" with Timeless Records and is now working on his Solo project as well as his TV Show The Music Store. It goes without saying that Tres Gilbert is not one for mediocrity, and that is what makes him a rare find.
